Spike: The Key In College Applications

You may have heard people talking about having a "Spike" in a college application. What this means is keeping a constant theme to express your commitment to your passion. For instance, if a student is aiming for a medicine related major their extra curriculars would be such: shadowing, volunteering at hospitals, a medical club leadership, science olympiad, internship in medicine, etc. If a student is aiming for engineering their extra curriculars would include NYU Arise, shadowing an engineer, coding club, math team, internship at an engineering firm, etc. It's all about showing your passion through your extracurriculars, awards, classes, and essays.
